What happens before you go to bed affects whether you wake up full of energy. Aside from the usual tips like avoiding technology, some other mind-boggling steps are helpful.

Three of them are:

Discover and believe a mantra

A mantra is a phrase or sound that can lift your morale and improve your mental state. Repeating it several times helps to penetrate the subconscious and integrate it into your beliefs. In the case of sleep, you may try the mantra “I am grateful to wake up every morning healthy and full of energy”. Obviously you don’t expect a magic power to cure your insomnia, but positivity has better results than negativity. This practice can be extended to other areas of life by replacing phrases that start with “I cannot…”.

Change of mood: 3+1 things you can try

Turn your attention somewhere else

Nobel Prize-winning author Aung San Suu Kyi says “if you’re helpless, then help someone.” When your attention goes away from the normal and the negative and when you realize that you have the power to help someone, you change your attitude completely. You feel stronger, more capable and more brilliant as giving is the greatest pleasure. Including a plan of solidarity the next day then you are momentarily in a better psychological state and you look forward to the moment you give.

Focus on the present

The past belongs to history and cannot be changed, in contrary to the future. One reason you stay awake and the next day you cannot wake up full of energy is the excruciating thoughts of yesterday. In many cases what has already happened is not a pattern that you will face in the future. If you had a car accident, it does not mean that it will be repeated with mathematical precision. If you experience a separation, it does not mean that you are not worthy of love and that there is no one to share experiences with.
