You post your photos on social media and instantly many of your friends will click “like”. This gives you pleasant feelings, doesn’t it? But not always…
The trap is that we enter a vicious circle. Your mobile monopolizes your attention. We need positive feedback and likes in whatever we upload. But if the likes are lessened, then negative thoughts and negative feelings overwhelm us.
In fact, what we lack is not the acceptance of others, but self-esteem. Experts talk about our addiction to likes and our happiness depending on them.
The first step in escaping this addiction is to understand that your need for comments and likes is the result of a lack of self-esteem.
Self-esteem determines how you feel and think about yourself. If you have low self-esteem, you will probably feel that you are not important.
In what ways will you be able to increase your self-esteem without becoming a narcissist?
Don’t expect perfection
Have you noticed that when you’re constantly searching for perfection, life often disappoints you? Although it is good to have high standards, do not fall into the trap of perfectionism. It can prevent you from taking advantage of new opportunities and preventing you from completing certain things.
Aid to society
If you are busy helping those less fortunate than you, you will not have time to deal with your low self-esteem. In fact, volunteering will surely increase your self-esteem.
Health
You’ve probably met people who don’t care about their appearance or even their life. Don’t be one of them. If you want a happy and successful life, you must take care of your health.
Negative situations
Difficult situations, such as a divorce or a dismissal, can greatly reduce your respect for yourself. In these difficult situations it is important to try to maintain your balance.
Set goals
How many times have you been told to set goals, but have you chosen to ignore this advice? To persuade yourself that goal setting helps, start with achievable goals.
Do what you love
