On the balcony, in our free time, on holidays, our permanent companion is a book. Historical, police and literary books of all kinds are good in our life. The book travels, teaches and pushes us to look at life in another way. It makes us better people.
For example, when we read a fantasy book we are emotionally drifted away and cultivate our empathy. This means that the book has a positive effect on our frame of mind.
The book is also stressful. Research has shown that reading before bedtime helps θσ sleep easier and better. We identify ourselves with the heroes of a book we receive ideas for improving our daily life, our way of thinking and it lures us to other places, landscapes and seasons.
Psychoanalysis could not remain indifferent to literary reading and sought to find an answer to how one gets from intrinsic activity to public artistic expression.
A book per week can be a challenge, but it’s even possible for the busiest people. When we replace the time we spend on our mobile phones by reading some pages of a book in bed or during our breaks, we can certainly achieve our goal and have more peace, satisfaction and sleep, while we also enrich our knowledge and our vocabulary.
